What Is Soap?

Created by a chemical reaction between oils, water and lye, soap is the oldest cleanser around.  Although lye is used to make soap, there is NO lye left after saponification takes place.  Saponification is the chemical reaction between the oils, water and lye.  After the soap has dried for 3 weeks the lye no longer exists in the soap.

Why Are “Conventional Soaps” Harmful?

Most conventional, store bought soaps are made from a vast array of man-made synthetic chemicals and animal by-products.  These man-made synthetic soaps are cheap to make.  The glycerin that is produced during the soap making process is taken out of the soap and used for other products.  The result is a soap that strips the skin of its natural oils and tends to leave your skin feeling dry, itchy and tight.
